World of Warcraft

Once I finished up my duties on Warcraft III, Blizzard needed my to jump right on the World of Warcraft project on the texture art team. First project: Deadmines.

I’m amazed the dungeons in WoW came out looking as good as they did. The art restrictions we were working on are frankly amazing. Blizzard wanted the game to run on old Geforce 2 cards. Which was great if you wanted to run it on older systems. But horrible if your making a dungeon with only 1 or 2 texture maps.

Here are some shots from Deadmines and Sunken Temple. I also worked on Wailing Caverns, Blackfathoms Deep, Razorfen Downs & Kraul, & Dozens of Environmental maps that other artists snagged for their zones. I can’t run around the game without looking down and saying something like “Hey, wait-a-minute, that’s a texture I made for [insert dungeon name here] and never used!”
